Holy Cross has been the hub of the Christian faith in Binstead for at least 1000 years; a place where many local people have worshipped, prayed, been baptized, married and buried through the ages.  We are a welcoming community looking to share the love of Christ in all we say and do.

St John

High Park Road Ryde
01983 564433
http://www.stjohnsryde.org.uk

Although our church building is closed for repairs we are meeting in the school hall or church hall for services (see the Weekly News Sheet for details). We are a friendly church family where everyone is welcome. We try our best to love one another as God has loved us. That means we also  join in with our local community in whatever way we can. We encourage everyone to use their skills and talents. We understand that no-one is perfect - including us!

In our worship we use the Church of England's "Common Worship" services but we take an informal approach. We try to make our services accessible and meaningful to those who are familiar with church and those who are not. We believe that all heartfelt worship which is sensitive to those around us is acceptable to God.

We have close links with Oakfield Primary School.  Some of our congregation visit the school regularly to e.g. listen to children read. We run Messy church once a month from September to Easter - see events for details.

We have a free monthly lunchtime gathering (Time Together Cafe) where anyone is welcome to come for a light lunch, good company and a communal activity. - see events page for details

Our "Wellbeing" mental health mutual support group takes place every Wednesday at 10.30am in the church hall
